An online purchase attempt turned into a financial loss for a man who paid more than a thousand euros for a car engine. The sale, in fact, turned out to be a scam orchestrated through the technique of phishing.
The buyer, attracted by the advantageous price, made two payments for a total of over 1.100 euros to a prepaid card indicated by the seller.
After completing the payments, the seller disappeared without a trace. However, thanks to the complaint filed by the victim, the police of the Provincial Command of Avellino managed to track down and report the person responsible, a 42-year-old man resident in the province of Barletta.
