Aversa – A truck loaded with hazardous and non-hazardous special waste It was seized by the Forestry Carabinieri of Marcianise as part of an environmental control operation in the so-called "Land of fires".

The vehicle, a Duchy, was stopped in Porta San Giovanni street and the driver was reported for illicit waste management. During the patrol, the soldiers noticed that the truck was carrying open-container metal waste, among which WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment): an uncleaned washing machine, a cathode ray tube television, three halogen heaters, an air fryer, a PC monitor and rusty aluminum and iron bars.
When asked to show the mandatory documentation, including the Waste Identification Form (FIR), the driver was unable to provide any authorization. Furthermore, the license plate check revealed that the vehicle was not registered registered in the Register of Environmental Managers, a fundamental requirement for the transport of waste.

The Carabinieri operation seems very important, but I don't understand why there are still so many abandoned wastes in these areas. I hope the authorities do more to protect the environment.
