The latest Camorra feud at Pallonetto between the Elia clan and the Sesso family gang has been reconstructed by the Naples DDA, thanks to the investigations of the Flying Squad, with 5 arrests.
Revenges, settling of scores and an unusual request for “financial compensation” for themurder of Pasquale Sesso. It is a disturbing glimpse of organized crime that emerges from the investigations into that murder, which occurred on the night of July 5, 2023 in Santa Lucia.
According to the reconstruction of the police and the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), the crime would have triggered a spiral of violence with two attempted murders and an extortion of 150 thousand euros in Rolex watches, aggravated by mafia methods.
The perpetrators of the crimes are said to be the five members of the Sex group of Pallonetto, linked to the Mazzarella clan and in contrast with the Elia family. The following were arrested: Gennaro Sesso, known as “Genny 'ra nera”, 40 years old, brother of the victim; his nephew Ciro Sesso, 30 years old; Pasquale Ottaviano, 45 years old, cousin of Paolo Mazzarella; Giuseppe Sesso, brother of Ciro; and Ciro Lemaire, 25 years old.
The latter, together with Giuseppe Sesso, would be among the material executors of the two attempted murders, while all five arrested are accused of threats and private violence.
Revenge after the murder
The investigations, coordinated by the DDA and conducted by the Naples Flying Squad (led by the director Giovanni Leuci and the deputy commissioner Luigi Vissicchio), led in recent months to the arrest of Gennaro Belaeff for the murder of Pasquale Sesso.
The same provision also included the names of Antonio Giuliano and Mario Pariso, investigated at large for having presumably procured the weapon for the murderer.
The news is said to have reached the ears of the Sesso family, who tried in vain to track down the two men. However, revenge is said to have fallen on Ciro Pariso, Mario's son, who was threatened, beaten and forced to hand over luxury watches worth 150 thousand euros, as "compensation" for the mourning suffered.
Attempted Murders and the Clan War
The investigation also reconstructed two failed ambushes against Fortunato Lequile, uncle of Gennaro Belaeff, and Carlo Giuliano, brother of Antonio. Both episodes, which fall within a perspective of transversal vendettas, did not affect individuals directly involved in the feud between the Sessos and the Elias.
The precautionary measure carried out yesterday involves five suspects, three of whom were already detained for other crimes, while the other two – the brothers Ciro and Giuseppe Sesso – were under house arrest. The investigation of the Dda, to which the San Ferdinando police station led by director Emilio Basile also contributed, has allowed us to outline a clear circumstantial framework regarding the responsibilities of those arrested, leading figures of the historic Pallonetto criminal group.

It's strange how crime continues to affect people's lives in certain areas. The murder of Pasquale Sesso and its aftermath are an example of how feuds can become violent. Let's hope justice takes its course.
The situation is really worrying, but I wonder if the police are doing enough to stop this spiral of violence. Investigations are important, but more effective preventive interventions are also needed.
Yes, it is a complex issue and cannot be solved with arrests alone. Long-term work is needed to reduce the power of organized crime on the territory.
