Article Key Points
The Court of Appeal of Naples, called to express itself again after the appeal of the Supreme Court, confirmed a severe accusatory framework against the defendants, inflicting five convictions with significant penalties.
The judges condemned Antonio Reale (born 1990) sentenced to 28 years and 4 months in prison e Antonio Reale (born 1991) at 26 years and 8 months. For Patrizio Reale and Vincenzo Reale, the Court excluded a leading role in the criminal organization, reducing their sentence to 11 years and 8 months.
Pasquale Reale was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months, while Salvatore Nurcaro, known for having survived the ambush in Piazza Nazionale, received a prison sentence 18 years in prison.
The requests of the Prosecutor's Office and the 2019 operation
In the first instance, the trial took place before the seventh criminal section of the Court of Naples, with the public prosecutor who had advanced requests for particularly severe sentences. Among these:
-
Antonio Reale (1991): 30 years in prison
-
Vincenzo Reale: 27 years old
-
Salvatore Nurcaro: 30 years old
-
Royal Patrician: 27 years old
-
Pasquale Reale: 28 years old
-
Mario Reale and Antonio Reale (1990): 30 years each
-
Several other defendants were given sentences ranging from 9 to 18 years
The prosecution had instead requested the acquittal for Anna Presutto, Francesco Rinaldi and Pasquale Esposito from the associative accusation.
The trial, as Il Roma recalled, originates from a police operation that took place inAugust of the 2019, when precautionary measures were carried out against alleged members of the clan Royal-Rinaldi, accused of drug trafficking, extortion and illegal possession of weapons. The investigations had revealed the clan's control of the drug dealing areas, in a context of a Camorra war with the Mazzarella for dominance over the territory.
The ambush in Piazza Nazionale and the wounding of little Noemi
Among the prominent names there is also Salvatore Nurcaro, believed to be one of the leaders of the Reale clan. On May 3, 2019, the man was injured in an ambush in National Square, an episode that shocked public opinion because, during the attack, little Noemi was hit by mistake, then only four years old. The attack was apparently linked to a debt Nurcaro owed to the clan Tingling.

It is a very complex and difficult situation to understand, the penalties are high and justice must take its course. We hope that the defendants reflect on their actions and the life they are leading.
