The Ministry of Labor and Social Policies has approved the hiring requests submitted by 51 Social Territorial Areas (ATS) in Campania, giving the green light to the inclusion of 410 new professionals in the social services sector.
The new figures will enter service starting from autumn 2025, strengthening support for the weakest sections of the population. The initiative is part of theMinisterial Notice on the Expression of Interest for the Strengthening of ATS, aimed at identifying personnel needs up to 30 June 2024 and for the following three years.
The new hires will include administrative officials, accounting and financial experts, psychologists and socio-pedagogical professional educators. The costs of the operation will be covered by funds from the PON Inclusion and Fight against Poverty 2021-2027, with a maximum ceiling of 300 million euros. The selection and financial coverage of new hires will be managed directly by the Ministry.
Carmine De Blasio, President of Adips Campania, stressed the importance of the initiative: "This is a fundamental step to consolidate a stable system of essential services for citizens. After the work, still incomplete, of guaranteeing a social worker for every 5.000 inhabitants, we now have the opportunity to strengthen local governance with key figures such as administrators, accountants, psychologists and educators. The Association of Social Policy Managers of Campania (A.Di.PS) will do its utmost to ensure that this opportunity is not wasted".

It is good news that the ministry has approved the hiring but I wonder if there will really be a positive impact on the people who need help. Let's hope that everything goes well and that the funds are used in the right way.
