Naples – The President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, has taken up pen and paper to address the top of the national government directly.
This morning, a letter signed by him was sent to Palazzo Chigi, addressed to the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Minister of Civil Protection Nello Musumeci.
At the heart of the appeal is the emergency that is affecting the Campi Flegrei, an area marked by the phenomenon of bradyseism, with pressure on the institutions for immediate interventions to support the population and the local economic fabric.
In his letter, De Luca doesn't mince his words: "concrete measures" are needed to alleviate the burden on families and businesses, severely strained by the damage caused by the earthquake.
"Citizens and businesses are suffering significant consequences," the governor emphasized, emphasizing how the situation requires decisive intervention from the state.
Among the requests put forward are a suspension of mortgage payments for residents and a freeze on social security contributions for businesses in the Phlegraean Fields area, measures deemed "essential" to address the current critical issues.
An appeal that sounds like a warning: for De Luca, it is "obligatory" for the national government to act quickly to provide relief to a struggling community, caught between the uncertainty of the natural phenomenon and its economic repercussions. Now the ball is in Rome's court, awaiting a response that could mark a turning point for the Campi Flegrei.

It is a very fair appeal that of President De Luca, but I wonder if the government will really take his requests seriously. The situation of Campi Flegrei is complicated and immediate intervention is needed, let's hope for the best.
