Degradation, waste and fires remain at the heart of the Neapolitan neighborhood of Poggioreale. In Via del Macello, residents have been living with piles of rubbish for some time, which are periodically set on fire.
A citizen reported the incident again, contacting local representatives: "We feel abandoned and neglected by the authorities. In Via del Macello there is a large camp, whose inhabitants burn special waste, seriously compromising the quality of the air and public health."
“In the next few days I will carry out an inspection to verify the state of things” - Borrelli stated - “Whether they are authorized or illegal makes very little difference for these camps where degradation, anarchy, illegality and crime nest. We need to think about and implement other housing and social solutions for these people, we need to do it especially for the children who certainly cannot live in these conditions. We need a cleanup as soon as possible before there are new and harmful fires”
