Casal di Principe – An episode of domestic violence shocked yesterday afternoon in the Caserta municipality, where a 38-year-old was arrested by the Carabinieri for attacking his elderly parents.
The man, at the height of yet another argument over financial matters, violently slapped his 67-year-old mother, knocking her out for several minutes.
The intervention of the Carabinieri
The alarm was raised around 17:00 pm, when a request for help was made to 112. Patrols from the Casal di Principe Station and the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the local Company immediately intervened on site.
When the military arrived, the woman was lying on the couch, cared for by some relatives, while her son was in the kitchen, still agitated and with an aggressive attitude towards his parents. The Carabinieri immediately stopped him and took him to the barracks for the necessary checks.
A violence that had been going on for a long time
According to what emerged, the man had already shown violent and aggressive behavior towards his parents, especially when they refused to give him money. Only two days earlier, exasperated by the continuous requests and threats, the couple had filed a complaint against him at the Carabinieri Station.
The health personnel of Trentola Ducenta also intervened at the scene of the attack, to check the health conditions of the woman. After having formalized a new complaint, the 38-year-old was arrested and transferred to the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities. He will now have to answer to the charge of mistreatment in the family.
