The mayor of Castel Volturno, Pasquale Marrandino, spoke to the microphones of Un Calcio alla Radio, a program broadcast on Radio Napoli Centrale, to clarify the negotiations underway for the Napoli sports center.
“Be wary of speculation,” Marrandino said. “As a municipal administration, we have had discussions with the blue club and other private entities. There are several proposals on the table of Napoli and the president, and the company is evaluating the best conditions.”
The objective of the Municipality is to guarantee the permanence of Napoli in Castel Volturno, ensuring the best conditions for the project. “We are working to ensure that the club stays here, but the final decision is up to the club,” the mayor said.
As for the timing of the new facility's construction, Marrandino confirmed that the prospect of a sports center ready for spring 2026 is concrete: "This is the desire and it is a plausible scenario. Our task is to facilitate and support entrepreneurial initiatives, because this is a strategic operation for the territory".
Finally, an appeal to avoid controversy and exploitation: "The president of Napoli is in direct contact with all the actors involved. Enough speculation and profiteering: this sports center will be an added value both for the company and for Castel Volturno".
