Yesterday afternoon, the police officers from the Police Station Scampia they arrested a 58-year-old Neapolitan, already known to the police, for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. The man was also reported for illegal possession of a weapon and aggravated robbery, the latter crime connected to an episode that occurred last February 19 to the detriment of a merchant on via Emilio Scaglione.
The operation was triggered following a complaint filed by the owner of a commercial business, victim of the robbery. During a house search in via Toscanella, the officers found a 6.35 caliber Beretta pistol, loaded with 5 rounds, carefully hidden in the house. In addition to the weapon, some items of clothing corresponding to those worn by the suspect during the robbery were also seized.
The arrest was carried out immediately, and the man is now in the hands of justice. The episode confirms the commitment of the State Police in fighting crime and ensuring the safety of the territory, also through targeted and timely investigations.
