Bologna – An empire built on artfully orchestrated bankruptcies and tax fraud: the Guardia di Finanza has confiscated assets for 4,4 million euro a Salvatore Marrazzo, a 53-year-old entrepreneur originally from Campania but resident in Bologna for years.
Article Key Points
The measure comes after confirmation by the Supreme Court of the seizure carried out in September 2022, as part of an investigation coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
Marrazzo, already arrested in 2020 for having devised a chain failure system resulting in tax evasion, was deemed subject to “marked economic-financial danger”, with a criminal record marked by tax, bankruptcy and property crimes.
The confiscated assets
- The Yellow Flames have put seals on:
Seven properties between Bologna and Riccione, including the restaurant-pizzeria "La Bella Napoli" and the B&B “Maison Juliette”
Financial availability for 1,6 million euros, between life insurance policies and banking instruments
A trading company, owner of the seized assets
The value of the goods corresponds to the disproportion between declared incomes from Marrazzo and his standard of living, characterized by huge investmentsIn 25 years, the entrepreneur has declared little more than 400mila euros, while tax audits have estimated a hidden treasure of nine million euros.
From Fraud to Foreign Accounts
The investigations revealed how Marrazzo diverted large sums to bank accounts in Croatia, thus evading Italian taxation. The money then re-entered the country through a network of financial tricks, to be reinvested in real estate and corporate transactions between Bologna and the Riviera Romagnola.
The confiscation represents a hard blow to the fraud system set up by the entrepreneur, who in a few years had gone from minor frauds in the management of sophisticated tax evasion mechanisms, often in collaboration with individuals who already have criminal convictions.

I read the article and I find it strange that an entrepreneur could do so much damage. The confiscation seems to be fair, but I wonder how it is possible that no one noticed this before. The law must take its course.
