On the problems of embarkations for the islands from the port of Pozzuoli, which have become difficult and unsafe due to bradyseism, the prefect of Naples Michele di Bari intervenes again and has called a new meeting to examine the issue in depth for next March 24th.
From Bari had already taken an interest in the matter on February 3rd when he called the shipping companies, the haulers and the regional maritime state property office to the Prefecture: the region's technicians had announced at that time the possible solution to the problem of the docks that had become too high, namely the installation of a large floating pontoon to be positioned between the ship's doors and the pier in order to reduce the difference in level and allow vehicles to embark and disembark without inconvenience and in complete safety.
However, according to regional officials, the pontoon should not arrive before the beginning of May, while the acceleration of the ground rise recorded in recent weeks in Pozzuoli has made it even more difficult and unsafe to get on and off the ferries, especially for large vehicles, so much so that Caremar has suspended the boarding of buses and campers and other companies have announced that commercial vehicles could soon be blocked, with serious consequences for the logistics and supplies of Ischia and Procida.
In recent days, the mayors of the six municipalities of Ischia have intervened on the situation of the Puteolan landing with a joint letter sent to President De Luca and to Di Bari himself in which they asked for a timely resolution also in view of the start of the tourist season, while yesterday also the health workers in service at the public facilities of the two islands, through the FIALS union, asked the competent institutions to intervene.
In fact, many of them are commuters who leave Pozzuoli every day and fear that the current operational difficulties could overturn the current framework of maritime connections.

Reading this article, I realized that the situation for boarding is very complicated and there are many problems. The pontoon solution seems like a good idea, but let's hope it arrives soon because commuters need it.
