Fisciano – It was November 30, 2024 when, in the early afternoon, violent gusts of wind uprooted a large pine tree inside the Campus of the University of Fisciano: the tree, falling heavily to the ground, overwhelmed three young people who were nearby, trapping them under the weight of the branches.
Among them, Carmine Fiorillo, the student who suffered the most serious injuries. After almost four months spent at the Ruggi Hospital in Salerno, on March 20th the young man finally left the ward to be transferred to the Rehabilitation Center in Imola. Hospitalized in critical conditions, CF had suffered a spinal injury, a serious head trauma, rib fractures and a pelvis. A complex clinical picture that initially had led to fears of the worst.
Thanks to the commitment and professionalism of the healthcare personnel of the Roar, the young man faced a long course of treatment. Three delicate surgical interventions, the support of the Intensive Care Unit, Neurosurgery and Pulmonology, in addition to the constant assistance of psychologists, accompanied his slow but significant improvement.
Now, in Imola, CF will begin a new chapter in his recovery journey, with the goal of gradually regaining his motor skills. The Strategic Management of the hospital, the doctors who have followed him and the nurses who have been by his side can only wish him to return soon to fully live his young age.

This is a very sad and difficult situation for Carmine and his family. I hope his recovery in Imola goes well and he can go back to living as before. Health is important.
Yes, I also think it is essential to support Carmine at this time. Accidents can happen to anyone and the consequences are often serious. It is beautiful to see how the health workers have done their best.
