The operation, which took place this morning, was initially aimed at verifying the presence of four pitbull reported in the home. But what emerged exceeded all expectations.
When the military arrived, the four dogs were found in apparently good physical condition, but one of them had cropped ears, a detail that immediately alarmed the veterinarians.
The owner of the dogs, a 42-year-old local man, was then reported for animal cruelty. However, the investigation did not stop there.
The man was also reported for animal cruelty
During the search, the Carabinieri found 1.340 euros in cash, divided into small denomination banknotes, an element that aroused the investigators' suspicions. Determined to shed light on the situation, the military extended the checks to a piece of land owned by the man and to a votive chapel located near his home.
And it was inside the chapel that the most sensational discovery was made: 6 doses of cocaine and 23 doses of crack, carefully hidden.

The man, already reported for animal cruelty, was then arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing. He is currently under house arrest pending legal proceedings.
The operation has brought to light not only an alleged drug dealing network, but also a disturbing connection between animal abuse and illegal activities, confirming the importance of targeted checks on the territory.
