It officially started at the headquarters of TeaTek in Acerra the on-the-job training course for the ex Whirlpool workers, today protagonists of an innovative industrial project: the birth of the Italian Green Factory, the sustainable factory that will be built in via Argine in Naples.
After years of mobilizations to defend employment, the turning point came thanks to TeaTek, which has decided to invest not only in the territory but above all in people, hiring former workers from the household appliance company and involving them in a project that unites ecological transition and industrial regeneration.
The first step is the training: 120 hours between the workshop and the office, side by side with TeaTek colleagues, to learn fundamental technical and management skills. A training designed to accompany workers towards a gradual but solid insertion in the new factory, and to prepare them to face the challenges of a rapidly expanding sector such as that of renewable energy.
The project, called “TeaTek Connect”, aims to build qualified professionals within a modern, sustainable and socially responsible production context. «We are happy to be able to offer new skills to the workers who will be working for Italian Green Factory - he has declared Happy Granisso, CEO of TeaTek and IGF – because adequate training is the essential prerequisite for being competitive in the clean energy sector. Work, innovation, sustainability and social commitment: these are the pillars of the new company that promises to transform a past marked by employment disappointments into a future based on development and participation. Italian Green Factory will not only be a factory, but a symbol of industrial rebirth and dignity of work. And its first protagonists are already building this future, one hour of training at a time.

It is a beautiful project that finally gives hope to the former workers of Whirlpool, but I hope that it is really effective and not just words. Training must be serious and not a waste of time.
