Frattamaggiore – A wave of thefts and attempted break-ins is bringing the bar-tobacconist's located in the Q8 petrol station area to its knees. frattamaggiore. Despite the installation of armored doors and security grilles, criminals continue to strike with increasingly audacious methods, causing damages worth thousands of euros and leaving the owner in a state of constant alert.
In recent months, the attacks have intensified, with episodes that seem to have come out of an action movie. One of the most sensational attempts, caught on surveillance cameras, saw a group of thieves use a van and lifting straps to knock down the security bars. In the latest raid, however, the criminals attempted to force entry with shovels, demonstrating uncommon determination.
“Each time the damage ranges from 2 to 5 thousand euros,” says the owner, exhausted after years of attacks. “Before installing the armored doors, we suffered a theft a month. The thieves would make a hole in the shutter, bend it with a metal pole and take all the cigarettes, with losses of 6-7 thousand euros each time.”
The situation prompted the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, to go there to express solidarity with the manager of the business. “It is absurd that those who invest, work and commit themselves every day should be left at the mercy of criminals without any protection,” Borrelli said. “Here there is no lack of desire to work or do business, there is no presence of the State. The desertification of the South is due precisely to this. While robbers and criminals have an easy life, the territory is dying. We need more police, more controls and exemplary sentences.”
The deputy's words reflect the frustration of an entire community, tired of living in uncertainty and fear. The criminals, in fact, seem to act undisturbed, aware that even if arrested, they will serve light sentences. In the meantime, the bar-tobacconist of Q8 continues to resist, but the question is: for how much longer?
The hope is that the institutions intervene before it is too late, restoring security to those who, despite everything, continue to believe in their work and in the future of the territory.

It is worrying that there are more and more thefts in places like this bar-tobacconist. It is not clear why there is not more protection from the local authorities, the traders deserve to work without fear.
I agree with Dindo, but I think that security must be increased, otherwise those who work honestly cannot continue to do their job. Thieves seem to act with impunity.
