Pompeii – Andrea Gaetano Boccia, brother of the entrepreneur Maria Rosaria Boccia, involved in the so-called “case Sangiulian“, made spontaneous statements before the sole judge Emma Aufieri during the summary trial against him. The man is accused of aggravated theft of electricity.
Defended by the lawyer Annapaola Palomba, Boccia is accused of having tampered with the electricity meter of his tailoring shop in Pompeii to reduce consumption and lower his bill costs.
Arrested yesterday by the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata company, the defendant denied the charges, claiming that he had regularly signed the supply contract and had always made payments. He also explained that in recent months the bills were lower because the tailoring shop was closed for renovation work.
In support of the defense, receipts for the paid bills were presented. At the end of the hearing, the judge proceeded with the validation of the arrest. The Prosecutor's Office requested the obligation to sign, while the defense requested the non-validation of the arrest or, alternatively, the absence of precautionary measures. The judge's decision is expected in the next few hours.
