Roberto De Simone's work finds new life through the enthusiasm of young students who, in recent months, have approached theater and art through their school education. The culminating moment of this commitment is represented by the show "Ce steva na vota na vicchiarella", scheduled in Naples next Thursday, March 27 at 12:30, on the occasion of World Theater Day.
“Levante – Theatre to the East” Project
The event is part of “Levante – Teatro ad Est”, a project supported by the association NEA Napoli Europa Africa and financed by the Municipality of Naples under the initiative “Teatro, Che Classe!”. The students of the Comprehensive Institute “Madre Claudia Russo-Solimena” worked on the texts of the Campania tradition, participating in workshops dedicated to tradition and territoriality and contributing to the creation of a collective dramaturgy. De Simone's fairy tales, introduced into the classes thanks to the free course offered by the association NEA, inspired the performance that will see the students as protagonists in front of parents and members of the educational community.
Involvement and Training
“Levante involved four working groups, from kindergarten to primary school to lower secondary school, as well as an intensive training program for teachers,” explains Giulia Amodio, actress and expert in applied theater, who led the workshops. The essential objectives of the project were inhabiting the stage space, mutual respect, valorizing one's body and voice, and the shared elaboration of a theatrical text, all fundamental practices to bring young people closer to the world of theater in a lively and engaging way.

The idea of involving young people in a project like this is really interesting but I don't know if it's enough to increase their interest in theatre which is increasingly in crisis today. Let's hope so.
