The Instituto Cervantes in Naples will host an important event dedicated to World Poetry Day, inviting renowned poet and writer Juan Antonio González Iglesias. The event will be held on Friday, March 21, starting at 11:30 a.m., at the institute's headquarters at Via Chiatamone 6G. Admission is free.

During the day, Juan Antonio González Iglesias will be present for a dialogue with the Hispanist Maria D'Agostino, offering a commented reading of his poems, taken from the work “Nuevo en la ciudad nueva”. The event will include a projection of images captured by the author himself in his experience in Naples.

The book “Nuevo en la ciudad nueva” explores the essence of Naples, celebrating the fusion between high and popular culture, and the Greco-Roman heritage. The work reflects the authenticity and beauty of the city, fitting into the humanistic tradition beloved by Spanish poets. González Iglesias, born in Salamanca in 1964, has received numerous awards for his poetic career and continues to influence several international cultural institutions. He is also a full professor at the University of Salamanca and collaborates with prestigious newspapers.
