On the eve of the Nations League quarter-final between Italy and Germany, coach Luciano Spalletti spoke at a press conference, conveying confidence and determination ahead of the match.
“Italy-Germany always has a special charm”, Spalletti underlined. "The history, the value of the two national teams, the results of the past: everything contributes to making this challenge unique. I am convinced that it will be an open match, both teams will play to win. We will have to be good at managing the moments of the game: if we are forced to chase, it will be very difficult to come out with a positive result. But we want to play it to the end".
The coach then took stock of the injured players' situation, confirming that Cambiaso and Zaccagni could be available only for the second match. He also addressed the issue of the World Cup qualifying group, which will also depend on the outcome of the match against Germany: “Thanks for reminding us”, he said with a hint of irony. “But I see the right mentality in my players, they want to grow and work with conviction.”
Spalletti then analyzed the ballot between Ricci and Rovella, underlining the differences between the two: “They have different characteristics, but they both know how to manage the game. Ricci is more of a mezzala, he gets involved more frequently. Rovella, on the other hand, is a midfielder who never gives up, he becomes tenacious when needed. Who will play? I have many doubts, but this gives me confidence: I have 23 strong players and I know that whoever takes the field will give their all”.
On the defender of the Juventus Federico Gatti, the coach highlighted the progress made: "He is a player with very specific qualities, a defender who is strong in marking. He is also improving in accompanying the action and in playing with the ball. We called him back because we see in him the possibility of growing further and adapting to new situations."

It seems to me that the Italy-Germany match will be very important and I hope that the players will give their best. Spalletti is right about what he said about the management of the match and injuries.
