The Jabil dispute at the center of political pressure: the unions urge a concrete commitment from the Campania Region
The mobilization of the 408 workers of the plant Jabil of Marcianise (Caserta) continues unabated. Despite the imminent risk of dismissal letters, the employees reiterate their firm “no” to solutions that do not guarantee the permanence of the multinational in Campania and the relaunch of the production site”.
The political intervention, in particular by the leader of the Five Star Movement Giuseppe Conte, has led the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, to convene a ministerial roundtable in Rome on April 16. However, in view of the crucial meeting, workers are appealing to the Campania Region, asking that it be represented at the highest levels.
The appeal to the Region: "De Luca must be present at the table"
In an official note, the company union delegates (RSU) underline the need for concrete support from local institutions. If the Councilor for Productive Activities Antonio Marchiello has regularly participated in ministerial meetings, now the workers are also asking for the direct presence of President Vincenzo De Luca.
Last March 25, during a meeting of Confindustria Caserta, De Luca reiterated the commitment of the Region on the Jabil issue, underlining that the situation was complex and that much depended on the choices of the Ministry. The governor had also hoped for greater intervention by the Government.
Unions and workers: “The involvement of all politicians is needed”
The RSU is not only addressing the Region, but is asking for the involvement of all political forces, so that they oppose the "wicked choices" announced by the American multinational. The Jabil dispute is thus confirmed as a national case, which awaits concrete answers from the ministerial table on April 16.
