In March, Feltrinelli and the Association Racism is a Bad Story are promoting an awareness initiative focused on contemporary discrimination. The event, called “The Wonderland,” proposes an active dialogue through a series of meetings, talks, and debates.
A Journey Through Contradictions
Inspired by the Feltrinelli Group's "Reading Teaches Reading" campaign, "Il paese delle meraviglie" invites us to reflect on the contradictions present in Italian society. Despite the persistence of discriminatory acts, a growing commitment of the new generations towards inclusion emerges.
Events and Protagonists
The event will take place from March 3 to 31 in Feltrinelli bookstores in various Italian cities, including Milan, Bologna, Verona, Naples, Messina, Turin, Rome and Parma. Leading figures in literature, sports, music and civil commitment will participate, such as Mokhtar Amoudi, Jonathan Bazzi, Ascanio Celestini. A significant event will be the panel “Invisible and Marginalized” in Naples on March 26, with Ascanio Celestini among the guests.
Related Initiatives
The program also includes a competition in collaboration with Prima Effe. Feltrinelli per la scuola, which invites students to artistically represent the theme “That time when… racism did not exist?”. A bibliographic proposal of over 100 titles will also be available, with readings focused on migration, integration and emancipation.

It is interesting that this initiative on racism is being done, but I do not know if debates alone are enough to change things. Society is complex and we need concrete actions and not just words to address this problem.
