The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a Yellow level weather alert bulletin for thunderstorms, which will start at 20 pm today, Monday 10 March, and will remain in effect until 12 pm tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March.
The warning comes after a careful evaluation by the Functional Center, which predicted the arrival of a disturbance characterized by intense rainfall, often of a stormy nature, on the central-northern coastal areas and on the Alto Casertano.
The areas affected by the alert are three: Zone 1, which includes Piana Campana, Naples, the islands and the Vesuvian area; Zone 2, corresponding to Alto Volturno and Matese; and Zone 3, which includes the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, the Sarno Mountains and the Picentini Mountains.
In these areas there is a fear of a localized hydrogeological risk, with possible critical scenarios: from flooding to inundations, up to runoff, rising water levels, falling rocks and landslides.
No significant criticality, however, is expected in the remaining areas of Campania, excluded from the Yellow alert. The Civil Protection has nevertheless invited the mayors and local authorities not to lower their guard, activating the Municipal Operations Centers (COC) and implementing the measures envisaged by the civil protection plans to deal with potential risks.
An appeal was also made to the population, called to carefully follow the updates and warnings issued by the regional unified operations room.
Bad weather, therefore, is back in the news in Campania, with an alert that calls for a prompt organizational response to limit the inconvenience and ensure the safety of the territory.

I believe that the weather alert is a serious thing but sometimes there is too much alarmism, because the forecasts are not always accurate. Let's hope that there are not serious problems like in the past, but we must be careful.
