Brusciano – A rain of convictions has fallen on the leaders and affiliates of the Piacente-Rega clan, the gang that managed drug trafficking in the “219” residential complex in Brusciano.
The court of Naples, at the end of the first degree trial held with an abbreviated procedure, imposed 38 sentences, for a total of almost 350 years of prison, fully accepting the requests of the Prosecutor's Office.
The “tsarina” of drug trafficking
Among those convicted, Tiziana De Donato stands out, wife of the boss Bruno Piacente, already in prison. The woman, according to investigators, had taken control of the organization, managing with an iron fist the drug dealing area of the "219", considered one of the most profitable in Campania. The clan's turnover was estimated at hundreds of thousands of euros, the proceeds of a widespread and well-structured drug dealing activity.
Ostentatious luxury and control of the territory
The clan's power was manifested through a lavish lifestyle: luxury cars, tastefully furnished villas, exclusive trips, sumptuous parties and investments in commercial and real estate activities. An ostentatious luxury, used to assert control over the territory and intimidate residents, who were even prevented from free access to their homes.
A hard blow to organized crime
The sentence, previewed today by Il Roma on newsstands, represents a hard blow for organized crime in the Neapolitan hinterland. The investigations, conducted with meticulousness, have allowed to dismantle an organization that, for years, has managed drug trafficking and oppressed the community of brusciano.
