A series of masterpieces of the Third Cinema of the Sixties and Seventies arrives in Naples for the first time in a restored version. The exhibition entitled “Manifesti per un cinema libero – I dannati della terra” is organized by Italian International Cinema and supported by the Municipality of Naples through the Cohousing Cinema Napoli project. The shows will be held from March 18 to May 7 at the Multicinema Modernissimo in Naples.
Collaborations and Objectives
The initiative is curated by Armando Andria and Gina Annunziata, with the collaboration of the Cineteca di Bologna and the Film School of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. This review represents a cinema where political emancipation merges with aesthetic evolution. The films come from Africa, Latin America and the Middle East and will be accompanied by critics and experts.
Meetings and Masterclasses
The festival also includes a meeting with Cecilia Cenciarelli of the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and a masterclass held by Ala Eddine Slim. The events aim to highlight the legacy of Third Cinema, promoting a dialogue between different cultures through independent artistic expressions, often subject to censorship.
