Naples – The pavilion that will host the first Musculoskeletal Tissue Bank of Southern Italy will be ready by next summer, and will be Napoli, in the Cardarelli hospital.
Meanwhile, today, Pavilion G, closed in 2011, reopens for a reorganization of the outpatient activities and the CUP. In fact, it concentrates 35 outpatient clinics that together process 250 thousand visits per year, and is also equipped with two small surgical rooms, as explained by the general manager, Antonio D'Amore, during the visit of the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca.
The 'governor' points out that the Tissue Bank project is strategic, especially in the hospital which represents a point of reference in the South and not only with the Major Burns Center.
“There is no reality of this kind south of Rome,” explains De Luca. “In addition to the musculoskeletal tissue bank, therefore the new tissue implant for major traumas, the skin bank for major burns will then start.”
Meanwhile, the reopening of Pavilion G “allows us to recover the spaces of the Palermo Pavilion and allocate them to oncology and oncohematology,” says DG D'Amore. Work is also continuing on anti-seismic types in various pavilions of the Cardarelli, which include, in addition to the provision of new equipment, also overhead connecting tunnels. The overall investment is worth “50 million, from Development and Cohesion funds, plus other funding that came from the former article 20 (fund for healthcare construction),” reports D'Amore.
