Naples – Yesterday morning, the State Police arrested a 31-year-old of Moroccan origin, already known to the police and illegally residing in the country, for theft by snatching and resisting a public official.
The episode occurred in Corso Garibaldi, where the officers of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, engaged in a territorial control service, noticed a man who, screaming for help, was chasing another individual.
Noticing the presence of the police, the fugitive attempted to escape, but was caught and stopped by the officers, not without difficulty.
During the check, the officers found a cell phone in his possession, ascertaining that the object had just been violently stolen from a young man in via Diomede Marvasi.
The man was arrested and the stolen goods were returned to their rightful owner.
