Naples – An urban traffic plan to combat the unsustainable congestion on the city’s road network will soon be before the City Council.
This was announced by Councilor Luigi Carbone in response to the request received on March 16, underlining the need for timely intervention to ensure better urban mobility.
Carbone shared the initiative with Councilor Gennaro Acampora, president of the relative majority group in the Council, with the aim of presenting a joint act to be submitted to the chamber in the next sessions.
The proposal includes the approval of an agenda that commits the city council to develop an urban traffic plan aimed at protecting public health and citizens' freedom of movement, while improving the commercial speed of taxis and the mobility of emergency vehicles.
"The intent - Carbone emphasizes - is to exercise our role of political direction on an issue that is very much felt by the citizens. The moment is propitious to regulate the use of private transport, considering the recent openings of the subway stations and the reduction of waiting times for public transport on rails."
The councilor assures that the developments of the proposal will be shared with the subjects involved and with the citizens, with a view to a more sustainable and efficient mobility.
