#Edenlandia is part of the heart and memory of #Naples. It is not only a place of entertainment, it is also an important economic engine that guarantees #work and sustenance to many families.
Its closure risks the loss of numerous jobs, a severe blow to those who have always believed in the value of our city and the strength of our local economy. On the other hand, however, It is important that the structure is safe for both those who work there and for the citizens.
Since its debut back in 1965, Edenlandia has been a key attraction in the city's entertainment scene, attracting families and young people looking for fun. The park was forced to close due to amanagement order issued by the Municipality. This measure not only has immediate effects on the management of the park, but also significant implications for employment, affecting approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs.
An end that marks an era
If you look closely, the history of Edenlandia is intertwined with that of the city of Naples. Founded in a period of strong economic development, the park contributed to local employment, creating jobs and stimulating the related industries. The numerous hirings at the opening and during periods of greatest affluence have not only enriched the employment panorama, but have also provided a form of sustenance to many Neapolitan families.
The reasons for the closure
Although New Edenlandia continues to pay its employees, the future is uncertain. Indeed, its supply chain, which includes restaurants, bars, and fast food outlets, is currently struggling. The lights of the attractions, once bright, are now turned off, leaving an eerie silence where once there was laughter and fun for adults and children. The closure has generated concern and tension among workers, who fear for their employment situation.
The decision to close Edenlandia was made following an inspection carried out by the Local Police, which highlighted serious discrepancies in the authorizations required for the operation of the park.
The irregularities found came following a report received on March 3. The lack of compliance with safety regulations prompted the authorities to take drastic action. It is worrying to know that some rides were poorly maintained and lacked the necessary certifications.
The March 7 ordinance therefore ordered the revocation of the licenses, citing specific articles of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety, to ensure the safety of the community.

Society's reaction
Faced with this situation, Gianluca Vorzillo, president of Tanit, the company that manages Edenlandia, has explicitly criticized the City Council's actions, emphasizing that the revocation of the licenses was incomprehensible. Before appealing to the Naples Regional Administrative Court, Vorzillo stated: "We are outraged by this decision, which we consider unreasonable." It's clear that the company is trying everything possible to reopen the park, and this appeal could represent a way to restore the situation.
Furthermore, the revocation of the license prevented the company from accessing the redundancy fund procedures, increasing the risk of dismissal for the staff. These measures, necessary to guarantee safety, were therefore enriched by a heavy economic and employment consequence for many workers, now in a precarious condition.
The importance of Edenlandia for the community
The closure of the playground does not only have economic repercussions: it also represents a cultural and social loss for Naples. Edenlandia, in fact, has always been a meeting place for families, a place where children can have fun and parents can spend carefree moments. The historic nature of the park and its sentimental value make it a symbol of youthful fun in the city.
The fact that a park of this size and importance can close its activities highlights a broader problem related to the management of recreational activities and public safety. It is essential to find a balance between legality, safety and entertainment opportunities for the younger generations. The hope is that this moment of crisis can stimulate a constructive discussion between the authorities and the managers, to ensure a peaceful future for Edenlandia.
Towards a possible reopening
Tanit's lawyers are currently awaiting further developments, as they are preparing an appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR). If successful, the park could reopen to the public relatively quickly. This would represent not only a victory for the company and its workers, but also a sign of hope for the community, eager to have their playground reopened.
The Edenlandia affair is a significant example of how bureaucracy and regulations must be addressed with care, to avoid damaging important realities for the social and economic life of cities. The Neapolitan community confidently awaits favorable developments to recover a symbol of its own entertainment and history.
