A 32-year-old Cuban national, already known to the police for specific precedents, was arrested late yesterday evening by the State Police in Naples, near Porta Capuana, on charges of illicit possession of narcotics and resisting a public official.
The operation started in via Carbonara, where the agents of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, engaged in a targeted territorial control service, surprised the young man while he was giving something to another person.
The police intervened promptly and stopped both the buyer - found in possession of a dose of drugs he had just purchased - and the 32-year-old, who attempted to get rid of some packages and flee to avoid being checked.
The escape, however, was short-lived: the man was caught and stopped by the officers, who recovered what he had abandoned during the escape, namely packages containing approximately one gram of cocaine.
The Cuban was arrested, while the buyer was administratively sanctioned for possession of drugs for personal use. The operation is part of the anti-drug dealing activities carried out by the Police in the heart of the city, an area often at the center of episodes related to drug trafficking.
