Naples – A flurry of extraordinary checks by the Carabinieri of the Company of Poggioreale in the streets of the city. A 25-year-old, Emanuele Capriglia, already known to the police, ended up in handcuffs on charges of resisting a public official.
The episode occurred during a routine traffic control: the young man, stopped by the military, reacted violently to escape the breathalyzer test, lashing out at the officers with insults and aggression. Arrested on the spot, Capriglia was later taken to trial.
The operation did not stop there. During the checks, two drivers were reported at large after testing positive to the breathalyzer, while another young man was reported to the Prefecture for possession of a small quantity of drugs.
The balance of the checks is clear: 23 people identified, 11 of whom had criminal records, and 12 vehicles were inspected. The Carabinieri issued five traffic violations, for a total amount exceeding 5.000 euros, also ordering the administrative seizure of a vehicle. A targeted action that confirms the commitment of the police force to guarantee safety and legality in the Neapolitan territory.

It was a very serious episode, but it is good that the Carabinieri make more frequent checks. We hope that this action leads to a reduction in crime in the city, but we also need more prevention and education for young people.
