TORRE ANNUNZIATA – Preparatory work for the redevelopment of Palazzo Fienga, the former stronghold of the clan Gionta, located in the so-called “Prison Quadrilateral” in the heart of the Vesuvian town.
The building, confiscated from the Camorra, will be demolished to make way for a urban park and a square of legality, a symbol of rebirth for the community. The announcement was given by Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, at the end of a meeting at the prefecture which involved all the interested institutional bodies.
In this first phase, interventions will be carried out mowing of vegetation, reclamation and cleaning of the area, operations essential to allow access to the site and the execution of the structural surveys. These checks will be essential to ascertain any connections between Palazzo Fienga and the lateral buildings, currently uninhabited.
The expected duration of these interventions is 21 days, at the end of which theDemanio Agency will proceed to draft a technical-economic feasibility plan for demolition. Subsequently, the demolition will be started Services Conference and, subsequently, the tender for the integrated contract that will give the go-ahead to the demolition and redevelopment works of the area.
