An injured buzzard was found along a road in Lettere. The bird was rescued by a resident and handed over to the Municipal Police. The bird was unable to fly due to a broken wing.
The municipal police officers, under the command of Commander Salvatore Giordano, immediately contacted the on-duty official of the ASL Na3sud veterinary service.
The veterinarians intervened promptly and ensured the transport and delivery of the bird of prey to the Wild Animal Recovery Center of Naples to provide it with the necessary care.
Mayor Anna Amendola and Councillor for Animal Welfare Luigi Vuolo take this opportunity to thank the fellow citizen who saved the bird of prey and the veterinarians and the Municipal Police of Lettere, "for having intervened promptly to protect a protected animal present in many of the lists of protected species, which populates our areas and which must be duly protected, even more so in situations of difficulty and exposure to great danger as in the case that occurred in our Municipality"
The Municipal Police wanted to name the buzzard “Spring” since the rescue took place on March 21, the beginning of the “rebirth” season.
