A busy night in Ponticelli, where a high-speed chase kept the Carabinieri of the Naples Poggioreale company busy: at 2:30, the soldiers noticed a truck Iveco Daily and ordered the driver to stop.
The man driving, instead of stopping, accelerated, starting a reckless escape through the city streets. The race ended in via Don Agostino Cozzolino, where the fugitive lost control of the vehicle, damaging several parked cars before stopping. The driver, identified as Diego Capuozzo, 30 years old, already known to the police, attempted to continue his escape on foot, but was stopped shortly after on Viale Margherita.
During the inspection of the vehicle, the carabinieri discovered two tanks containing 2 thousand litres of diesel fuel of illicit origin. Capuozzo was arrested on charges of resisting a public official and receiving stolen goods. Investigations are continuing to trace the origin of the fuel and any accomplices.

The article is interesting, but I don't understand why people run away from the police. Especially if they have something illegal in the vehicle. It would be better to stop and explain the situation instead of complicating everything.
