A load of drugs and a clandestine weapon hidden in the scooter. This is what was discovered by the Flying Squad of the State Police of Salerno, who last March 8 arrested a man, SA, on charges of possession of narcotics and possession of an illegal weapon.
The arrest took place at the A2 motorway junction, in San Mango Piemonte, during a territorial control operation aimed at combating drug trafficking in the capital and surrounding municipalities.
During the search, the officers found a block of cocaine weighing over a kilo and a Beretta Mod. 98 SF pistol, caliber 9×21, with the serial number erased, and a magazine loaded with 41 bullets. Everything was hidden in a backpack placed in the under-seat compartment of the Honda X-ADV scooter on which the man was traveling.
Investigations are continuing to reconstruct any links with drug trafficking in the area.
