The State Police, during some administrative checks aimed at repressing illegal rental of Italian and foreign vehicles in the province of Naples, administratively sanctioned the owners of three garages that rented vehicles without the required authorizations.
In particular, the officers of the Sorrento Highway Police checked a commercial activity in the Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate, where they found several rental contracts attributable to companies with registered offices in Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania, operating, in fact, in Italy but without any operational headquarters on the national territory.
Therefore, the police officers carried out technical checks on the vehicles on display in the premises to prevent any illicit activities connected to money laundering and commercial fraud and to verify, for the Italian ones, the regularity according to the provisions of the Highway Code on "vehicles for rental without drivers".
From the investigations carried out below, the operators discovered the illicit activity of three companies located within the commercial establishment in question which did not have any type of sign indicating the aforementioned activities.
For these reasons, the non-compliant owners were administratively fined for a total of 5000 euros.
