During the night, an interminable line of young people crossed the darkness from Sant'Arsenio to San Pietro al Tanager, united in silence and in memory of Massimo Nonato, the 21-year-old from Sant'Arsenio tragically snatched from life in a car accident that occurred right along that route. Lit candles illuminated the path, while the air filled with a dense, almost palpable emotion.
The heartbreaking words of Massimo's mother broke the silence, as she wanted to share her pain and gratitude with those who, in these days of mourning, have not left her alone. "I am Massimo's mother and I will always be his mother, even if he was taken away from me in the cruelest way," she said with a voice broken by anguish.
"I am experiencing enormous and infinite torment. I thank those who have shown me love and closeness, gathering around my pain. But above all I thank all the boys who were there tonight, in that place that took him away from me. You are all imprinted in my heart, I love you infinitely. Thank you for everything."
A message that moved those present, transforming a night of mourning into a collective embrace, a tribute to a young man who will remain forever in the memories of a community struck by a loss as sudden as it was devastating.

It is truly sad to see how people can be taken away in a moment. Massimo's mother has words that touch the heart and I hope there is comfort for everyone in this difficult moment. The community must unite.
