Rocky Balboa returns to the ring! On stage at the Augusteo theater in Naples (Piazzetta duca D'Aosta 263) from Friday 4th to Sunday 13th April.
Rocky The Musical is a breathtaking show, filled with poetry, extraordinary songs and splendid ensemble numbers set to music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, with a book by Tony Thomas Meehan adapted from the screenplay by Sylvester Stallone, one of the show's writers.
Translation and adaptation by Luciano Cannito, who also signs the direction, and the choreography with Fabrizio Prolli.
The protagonists on stage will be Pierpaolo Pretelli (Rocky) and Giulia Ottonello (Adriana).
With them on stage also Robert Ediogu (Apollo Creed), Giancarlo Teodori (Mickey Goldmill), Matteo Micheli (Paulie Pennino), Laura Di Mauro (Gloria). And with Simone Pieroni (Mr Jergens), Francescopaolo Verratti (Mr Gaso), Christian Peroni (Tommy Crosetti), Valeria Cozzolino (Joanne), Laura Offen (Angie), Martina Peruzzi (Linda McKenna), Pietro Rebora (Coach Apollo), Cristina Da Villanova (Apollo Girl), Gianmarco Galati (Spider Rico), Gianluca Savino (Mike), Nicholas Lega (Buddy), Egon Polzone (Dipper).
Produced by Fabrizio di Fiore Entertainment in agreement with Music Theatre International, the show is enriched by the sets of Italo Grassi, the costumes of Veronica Iozzi, the lights of Valerio Tiberi, audio design by Leonardo Zagariello, musical direction by Ivan Lazzara and Angelo Nigro, who also made the arrangements.
Synopsis: Rocky Balboa is a small-time boxer from Philadelphia who is chosen to face Apollo Creed, the reigning world heavyweight champion, who was supposed to face another champion who was suddenly injured. As Rocky trains with passion and discipline for the fight, he begins a relationship with Adriana, a fragile clerk in a small pet store, tired of being mistreated by her brother. As their love grows, Rocky and Adriana each find their own inner strength and bring out the best in each other. With equal parts grit and heart, Rocky is about the triumph of spirit, strength and love.
