A new theater project, entitled “Criminal Conversations,” is preparing to bring to the stage some of the most enigmatic cases in recent Italian news. The initiative will debut at the Teatro Città di Pace in Caserta, next Saturday, March 22.
An Investigative Theatre Initiative
Organized by Ali della Mente and Fabbrica Wojtyla, the initiative is part of the Artistic Season Rosso Vanvitelliano and benefits from the collaboration of the Diocesan Caritas of Caserta. “Conversazioni Criminali” presents itself as a format of Investigative Theater, aimed at restoring dignity to the victims through a combination of theatrical poetics and a rigorous scientific approach.
Focus on the Victims
The show will give voice to stories that have strongly affected public opinion: Chiara Poggi, Liliana Resinovich, Melania Rea, Erika and Omar, Denise Pipitone, Melissa Bassi, Annamaria Franzoni. “Criminal Conversations” does not limit itself to narrating the events, but is also a critique of the often present morbidity of media reports.
Contributions and Details
The Police Commissioner of Caserta, Andrea Grassi, will contribute to the event with a speech based on his investigative experience. The texts, edited by Patrizio Ranieri Ciu, will accompany the audience on an emotional journey through the voices of the victims and the executioners. The appointment is for Saturday, March 22 at 20:30 pm, with free admission upon reservation. The event represents an opportunity for the audience to reflect on the complexities of human nature, through the experience of theater.

The idea of 'Criminal Conversations' is very interesting, but I hope it is not just a superficial representation. The stories of the victims are delicate and deserve adequate respect, it would be better to delve into the facts with more seriousness.
