NAPLES – The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, expressed his closeness to the city of Napoli after the strong shock of earthquake felt distinctly at night.
The Head of State wanted speak directly mayor Gaetano Manfredi to check on the situation and show solidarity with the citizens. The phone call took place this morning and Mattarella expressed concern and attention for what happened, asking for updates on the state of the city and any critical issues.
At the end of the interview, the mayor Manfredi thanked the President of the Republic for the closeness and attention shown towards Naples and its inhabitants. In the meantime, local authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of the population.
