Castellammare di Stabia – A major cleanup operation is underway along the entire Stabia coastline. The operation, which began yesterday, is being conducted by Velia Environment, the company that manages environmental services in the city, in coordination with the municipal administration.
The work started from Via De Gasperi, area which hosts the free beaches particularly crowded during the summer season. In the next few days, the operators will continue along the coastal stretch until they cover the entire Corso Garibaldi seafront, For a total of 4 kilometers of reclaimed beach.
To make the intervention more efficient, Velia Ambiente uses cutting-edge machinery: a filter basket separates the sand from the waste, while other mechanical means equipped with shovels complete the work. The aim is to give back to the citizens a coastline clean and safe, in view of the next bathing season.
The initiative is part of a series of actions planned for improve liveability of public areas and promote urban decorum, marking a step forward in the environmental protection of the territory.

It is important that something is done to clean the beaches but I hope that this intervention is not only temporary and that periodic maintenance is also done, so that we do not go back with waste.
