The Mobile Squad of the Avellino Police Headquarters has carried out a major anti-drug operation, coordinated by the Naples Prosecutor's Office, which led to the arrest of five people.

The suspects, reached by a custodial order issued by the investigating judge of the Neapolitan court, are accused to varying degrees of criminal association aimed at illicit drug trafficking and possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.

To communicate with the outside world, the man used cell phones and SIM cards, brought into prison by his wife during the interviews. A system that allowed him to maintain firm control of the group even behind bars.

During the operation, investigators seized a large amount of loot: 252 thousand euros in cash, proceeds from drug dealing activities. The investigation highlighted the well-organized structure of the group, which operated with a logistics base in Altavilla Irpina, from where the directives for drug trafficking originated.
A severe blow to organized crime in the area, thanks to the synergy between law enforcement and the judiciary.
