In the quiet Telesina Valley, an unprecedented operation has shaken the daily routine. The Carabinieri of the Company of Cerreto Sannita, reinforced by a special team from the 10th “Campania” Regiment, deployed 100 patrols to comb every corner of the area.
The goal: to prevent theft, combat drug dealing and illegal possession of weapons.
The evening and night hours were the scene of numerous checks. 556 vehicles stopped, 783 people identified, tense faces and questioning glances. Every car, every individual, was subjected to a thorough check.
Stories of ordinary illegality:
A man, under the influence of alcohol, refused to take a breathalyzer test, thus losing his vehicle.
Another, with a dagger hidden in his clothes, was reported for illegal possession of a weapon.
A third, in an attempt to evade a fine, provided false personal details, thus making his situation worse.
Five young people, caught with cocaine, crack and marijuana, were reported to the Prefecture.
The street as a mirror of a society:
45 traffic violations, 80 license points deducted, 7 vehicles seized and 2 licenses withdrawn. Numbers that tell of a complex reality, where road safety is often put at risk.
An operation that leaves its mark:
The “Telesia Sicura” operation ends with a significant balance. A hard fist against illegality, a clear message: the Telesina Valley is no man's land.

The Carabinieri operation was an important thing for the Telesina Valley. But I don't know if it's enough, since illegality continues to be a problem. Let's hope the situation improves over time.
