Naples – Two arrests in the last 24 hours in the area of Piazza Garibaldi and Porta Capuana: they are a 23-year-old of Moroccan origin and a 36-year-old Neapolitan, both already known to the police. The operations were conducted by the agents of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station during targeted territorial control services.
The first intervention took place yesterday afternoon in Piazza Garibaldi. The police noticed a suspicious exchange between two men and immediately intervened. At the sight of the officers, the alleged drug dealer attempted to flee, getting rid of some blister packs. After a chase that ended in Via Lavinaio, the man was stopped with difficulty. He had on him 16 tablets of psychotropic substance, about 4 grams of hashish, one gram of marijuana and 60 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The second arrest took place during the night in the Porta Capuana area. At the sight of the patrol, a group of people quickly dispersed. One of the fugitives was caught and stopped after a fight. During the check, the man was found in possession of four packages of cocaine. He also tried to mislead the officers by providing false personal details, which were later unmasked through more in-depth investigations.
Both were arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and resisting a public official. The 36-year-old will also have to answer for impersonation and false identity certification.
