Bologna – Scarves, T-shirts, beers and water sold without authorization near the stadium: this is the result of the control activity of the Local Police of Bologna on the occasion of the match between the rossoblù and Napoli.
Ten reports and fines totalling €7.400 were issued to illegal vendors caught selling items and drinks to fans without any qualifications.
The first reports reached the operations centre in the late afternoon, when a vendor was identified as active in via Porrettana, intent on intercepting Neapolitan fans heading towards the away sector.
The man had set up a real stand with a metal structure and a wooden top, transforming the area into a small improvised bazaar. The officers, who intervened on the spot, seized 164 items including scarves, t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats, in addition to the entire structure.
Not far away, still on via Porrettana, a second illegal vendor was caught red-handed while trying to sell water and beer to fans with the help of a cart and a tub full of bottles. Also in this case, the Local Police seized about 70 bottles and all the equipment.
The checks did not even spare the authorized vendors: one of them was fined several times for not respecting the rules regarding the occupation of public land in his parking space.
The operation, coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna, is part of the fight against illegal trading during sporting events, with the aim of ensuring safety and legality in a crowded and particularly sensitive context.

It is strange that we continue to see illegal vendors near the stadium, despite the controls. Perhaps more checks should be done to avoid these situations and guarantee the safety of the fans and legality.
