What is the renovation bonus?
Il Renovation Bonus 2025 It is a tax relief that allows you to recover part of the expenses incurred for redevelopment and restructuring interventions on buildings, through a Irpef deduction divided into ten annual installments of equal amount. The bonus applies to both individual housing units and their appurtenances, and to the common areas of condominium buildings. This incentive covers a wide range of works, including ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, restoration, conservative redevelopment, building renovation and interventions aimed at energy saving. The incentive also includes works for the reconstruction of damaged buildings from natural disasters, the construction of garages, the elimination of architectural barriers, the removal of asbestos, the installation of anti-theft systems and the replacement of generators with latest-generation gas generators, with a spending limit of 96.000 euros per property. However, the following are excluded: plants powered exclusively by fossil fuels. Various subjects can benefit from it, not only the owners of the property but also their cohabiting family members, as well as usufructuaries, borrowers, etc. For request the renovation bonus It is not necessary to submit an application, but it is sufficient to attach to the 730 form all the documentation relating to the expenses incurred.
Other concessions in the construction sector
In addition to the Renovation Bonus, the following will also remain active in 2025: Sissabonus Ecobonus and Architectural Barriers Bonus, albeit with some changes compared to previous years. As regards the Sismabonus and the Ecobonus, the tax deduction is set at 50% for interventions on primary residences and 36% for other properties. Starting in 2026 and until 2027, these rates will drop further: to 36% for primary residences and 30% for secondary residences. The Ecobonus covers energy requalification works such as the replacement of window frames, the installation of heat pumps and other interventions on existing buildings. However, plants powered by fossil fuels are excluded, in line with the European “Case Green” directive, which Italy will have to implement within two years. Instead, the Bonus Architectural Barriers provides for a 75% deduction for works aimed at eliminating obstacles to mobility (including the construction of ramps, lifting platforms, elevators, stairlifts, etc.). In this case, the deduction is divided into 10 annual installments and the spending limits vary depending on the type of building. Specifically, 50.000 euros for single-family buildings or independent units, 40.000 euros for buildings with up to 8 units, and 30.000 euros for those with more than 8 housing units.

I read the article and it seems interesting, but I'm not sure how exactly the renovation bonus works. It would be helpful to have more details on what types of work are included and if there are any specific deadlines.
