This morning, in San Cipriano d'Aversa, at the headquarters of the Polisportiva Capasso, in via Acquaro, the mass was celebrated by Don Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of Caivano (NA) and member of the ANC, a Holy Mass in memory of the Carabinieri of Campania who fell in service.
The event, organized by the ANC Regional Inspector Gen. CA Domenico Cagnazzo and the Mayor of San Cipriano d'Aversa, was attended by the Commander of the Campania Carabinieri Legion Gen. D. Canio Giuseppe la Gala, the Provincial Commander of Caserta, Col. Manuel Scarso, the Commander of the Aversa Group, Lt. Col. Pasquale Sasso IOVENE, a representation of the military of the Province including the officers in command of the territorially competent departments.
Also present at the religious function were students from four high schools from the municipalities of San Cipriano d'Aversa, Casal di Principe and Castel Volturno, as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of San Cipriano Picentino (SA), twinned with the host municipality, and a delegation of the retired Carabinieri (ANC).
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the numerous participants moved outside the sports facility where the mayor of San Cipriano Picentino and Mrs. Vittoria Iannotti, widow of the MOVM App. SC. Tiziano Della Ratta, unveiled a commemorative plaque of all the Carabinieri fallen in Campania donated by the Municipality of San Cipriano d'Aversa.
The Commander of the Campania Carabinieri Legion then took the floor and, in greeting those present, underlined the concepts of legality and closeness of the Carabinieri to the population as well as the social role and the need to intervene incisively in everyday life to improve the reality that surrounds us.
To a question posed by one of the many students present on how a Carabiniere can reconcile his work with being a parent, General La Gala responded that every soldier of the force has two families, the one of origin and the one made up of the community towards which he carries out his mission and that it is precisely the family of origin, with its support in daily life, that makes the commitment he makes possible.
