Poorly preserved food, kitchens in critical hygienic conditions, swimming pools without checks for legionella: this is the result of the checks carried out by the Carabinieri of the NAS of Salerno in 14 hotel facilities in the provinces of Salerno e Avellino, frequented by students on a school trip.
Of the 14 structures inspected, 10 were found to be non-compliant with regulations: 8 administrative violations detected, 10 people reported to the authorities, 570 kilos of food seized and a closed hotel for unacceptable hygienic-sanitary conditions. The deficiencies detected are very serious: two kitchens and a food storage room have been suspended, while a swimming pool has been declared unusable due to the absence of the manual for the prevention of legionellosis, a detail that, according to health regulations, can put the health of bathers at risk.
Among the most common violations found were food untraced or poorly preserved, hygienic-structural deficiencies evident, use of water microbiologically unfit for human consumption e different administrative authorizationsThe overall value of the seizures and the provisions issued is around million euros, a strong signal that highlights how tourist reception linked to the school world is often managed without the necessary safety standards.

It is a pity that the hotel facilities are not in compliance with health regulations, but I wonder why there are so many violations. It is important that the authorities check more often to avoid serious problems for those who go on trips.
