NAPLES – An evening of intensified controls in the heart of Vomero, where the State Police, supported by various law enforcement agencies and institutions, combed through the most popular areas of Neapolitan nightlife.
The operation is part of the services arranged by the Naples Police Headquarters to ensure greater security and compliance with regulations in the most crowded city areas during the night hours. The checks were concentrated in particular between San Martino, via Scarlatti, via Luca Giordano, via Falcone and in the Medaglie d'Oro and Vanvitelli squares.
Officers from the Vomero, Posillipo, Nuovo Palazzo di Giustizia, Chiaiano and Scampia Police Stations took part in the operation, with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Department, the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, the Labor Inspectorate and the ASL Napoli 1 Centro. During the evening, 360 people were identified, 17 of whom had a criminal record.
115 vehicles were also checked and 55 violations were reported. Highway Code. Particular attention was paid to commercial premises: 27 businesses were inspected, some of which were found to be non-compliant with current regulations, with violations that led to administrative fines totaling approximately 14 thousand euros.
In one of the premises, a worker without a regular contract was also discovered. In addition to checks on circulation and public establishments, the officers verified the position of 7 individuals subjected to restrictive measures or alternatives to detention, ensuring that they complied with the requirements imposed by the judicial authority.

The evening of checks in Vomero seems to have been very effective and involved many police forces. It is important that there are checks for the safety of citizens and for compliance with the rules, but I hope that it does not become routine.
