CASERTA – A high-risk operation carried out by the Carabinieri of the Capua Company, which brought to light a real illegal explosives industry hidden between Calvi Risorta and Francolise.
At the conclusion of the investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the house arrest for two people, accused – in the preliminary phase of the investigations – of Illicit manufacture and possession of explosive material. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators of the Calvi Risorta Station and Operations Section, the two would have set up between May and July 2024 two clandestine laboratories where, with the help of occasional labor, they produced unauthorized fireworks also intended for sale abroad.
The quantity found is impressive: 13 tons of explosive material, for a commercial value that exceeds the 4 million euro. During the investigations, also supported by technical activities, the military identified the operational bases and managed to seize all the explosive material, avoiding potential tragedies in the inhabited centers where the deposits were hidden.
The investigation continues to clarify any links with international distribution networks and other subjects involved in the clandestine supply chain. In the meantime, the judiciary and law enforcement they score a decisive blow against the illicit trafficking of explosives, a phenomenon that, in addition to being highly dangerous, fuels underground economies and organized crime.

I don't know if this operation was effective enough, because there are many other illegal activities that happen in silence and nobody talks about them. They should do more checks and prevent these situations.
I agree that there are many situations to monitor. It is important that law enforcement continue to work to stop organized crime that harms our community.
We hope that this operation is just the beginning of a larger effort against explosives trafficking. Citizens' safety must be a priority for everyone, not just the competent authorities.
